About Me
I qualified as a doctor in 2001 and subsequently as a GP in 2008. I have worked with patients with neurodiversity in each of these roles and in 2022, I began working as an ADHD specialist.
With ADHD as a specialism, I have an interest in women’s health and how changes in female hormones impact ADHD. I also have a strong interest in how General Practice can tackle health inequalities. I sought to become educated in the delivery of ADHD care with the aim of sharing this knowledge with my primary care colleagues and to work with like-minded clinicians to change the landscape. I am part of the ADHD Primary Care Network. The aim of the network is to encourage Primary Care Clinicians with an interest in ADHD to meet each other and to improve their knowledge and understanding about ADHD. My CPD includes, at least fortnightly, ADHD 360 webinars ranging from lectures with external ADHD expert speakers to internal safety and quality updates. My personal performance is further enhanced by direct clinical supervision, extensive personal reading and I enjoy ADHD, and neurodiversity related, podcasts and webinars. I participate in the annual NHS appraisal program which covers the scope of all my work. The highlights of my ADHD career are supporting patients through diagnosis and treatment in order to aid them to meet their life goals and ultimately their potential. ADHD treatment can be life changing and to be a part of someone’s journey is a real joy. The best part of my job is working with like-minded individuals who are passionate about ADHD and delivering ADHD training to clinicians at the ADHD360 academy. Outside of my professional life, I enjoy spending time with my family, seeking sunshine, taking long walks with my dog and I am also a regular at my local gym.
