About Me
As a mental health nurse for 10.5 years and a nurse prescriber for 7 years, I possess a deep understanding and a wealth of knowledge to support individuals with diverse mental health needs.
With a dedicated focus on children with ADHD, I have accumulated 7 years of experience in working closely with this condition. Assisting young individuals in navigating the challenges associated with ADHD brings me immense satisfaction.
In addition to my expertise in ADHD, I have spent 7 years working in CAMHS, providing comprehensive care to children and adolescents with various mental health concerns.
Prior to that, I have also gained valuable experience in adult mental health, particularly in crisis intervention and long-term care settings.
I attend fortnightly training sessions covering various topics that contribute to my ongoing professional growth. I also receive regular email updates from ADHD forums and the ADHD Foundation, keeping me informed about current trends, research, and relevant discussions.
The best part of my job is witnessing the positive transformations in young people's lives. It's incredibly rewarding to observe how a timely diagnosis and appropriate medication can turn their lives around. From facing potential exclusion, conflicts with family and friends, to thriving academically and socially, it's truly fulfilling to be a part of their journey.
My goal is to continue making a positive impact in the lives of children with ADHD, utilising my experience, ongoing professional development, and dedication to mental health care.
Outside of my professional life, I have diverse interests and hobbies. I am a season ticket holder at Sheffield United FC, and I enjoy regular exercise, including running and participating in 10km city runs. When it's time to relax, I indulge in some chocolate while watching reality TV shows.
