Neuroscience Education Institute (NEI) Conference 2024

ADHD 360 Senior Team Inspired at Neuroscience Education Institute (NEI) Conference

The senior clinicians of ADHD 360 attended the Neuroscience Education Institute (NEI) Conference in Colorado between 6 - 9 November and have been inspired to initiate their own research.

NEI is a distinguished global centre of excellence providing high quality, visually engaging, and evidence-based educational activities designed to help increase the competence of healthcare professionals in the diagnosis and treatment of psychiatric and neurologic disease states.

During their visit the team attended lectures by some of the world’s leading academics on topics such as medication, the importance of evidence-based care, diagnosis, the benefits of early treatment, ADHD and dementia, and the latest developments in treating ADHD across the patient lifespan. The team were invited to present their work on advocacy for the female patient through the menstrual period by raising her meds for a week. The expert panel of senior academics had studied and researched this important practice, but never met a team from a clinic that were pragmatically engaged in delivering this specialist element of care.

The team enjoyed discrete sessions with Prof Tim Willens, Harvard Medical School, Prof Vladimir Maletic, USC Dept of Neuropsychiatry & Behavioural Science, Professor David Goodman, John Hopkins University School of Medicine, and Professor Andrew Cutler, Chief Medical Officer at NEI.

As a result of the inspirational engagement with some of the world’s leading ADHD academics, the ADHD 360 senior clinical team have committed to develop three ADHD 360 funded research projects into ADHD and female health, ADHD and the comorbidities of anxiety and depression, and the link between ADHD and the gut brain link.

CEO, Dr Phil Anderton PhD, confirmed ADHD 360’s commitment to contributing to the development of ADHD care.

"This Conference evoked so many positive emotions and affirmations to our senior clinical team that not only validates our current clinical practice but has also inspired the team to undertake their own research activities - converting our real world evidence, highlighting our world class clinical practice and informing global developments in ADHD care.”
