Neuroscience Education Institute Conference 2024

In November 2024 senior clinicians from ADHD360 attended the Neuroscience Education Institute (NEI) Conference in Colorado.

NEI is a distinguished global centre of excellence providing high quality, visually engaging, and evidence-based educational activities designed to help increase the competence of healthcare professionals in the diagnosis and treatment of psychiatric and neurologic disease states.

An impactful educational experience

During their visit our colleagues attended lectures by some of the world’s leading academics. Covering topics such as:

  • medication,
  • the importance of evidence-based care,
  • diagnosis,
  • the benefits of early treatment,
  • ADHD and dementia, and
  • the latest developments in treating ADHD across the patient lifespan.

Our contribution

The team were invited to present their work on advocacy for the female patient through the menstrual period. Showcasing the benefits of increasing her medication dose during the luteal phase of her menstrual cycle.

The expert panel of senior academics had studied and researched this important practice, but never met a team from a clinic that were pragmatically engaged in delivering this specialist element of care.

Takeaway

As a result of the inspirational engagement with some of the world’s leading ADHD academics, we have committed to develop three ADHD360 funded research projects:

  • ADHD and female health,
  • ADHD and the comorbidities of anxiety and depression, and
  • the ADHD and the gut brain link.
