I qualified as a Paediatric Nurse 2007 from the University of Central Lancashire. Since qualifying I have worked within Child and Adolescent Mental Health. My current role is Clinical Lead for Lancashire Care NHS within the ADHD Nurse Led Service where I diagnosis ADHD, Initiate medication, titrate and stabilise, supporting the whole family through their journey.
I qualified as an Independent Nurse Prescriber in 2011, which was undertook at Cumbria University. Whilst working within CAMHS I have had the opportunity to complete my Child and Adolescent Mental Health degree through the University of Central Lancashire which I found extremely interesting.
I am responsible for communicating complex information regarding diagnosis and treatment options. I maintain relevant and pharmaceutical knowledge, critically appraise and apply information in practice so I am able to consult with my patients to assess, diagnose and generate treatment options and follow up plans.
I confidently prescribe safely and effectively, acknowledging my own limitations and scope of practice and have a highly developed and expert interpersonal and communication skills, which is required when communicating in hostile, antagonistic and highly emotive atmospheres.
